DAKO is one of the first suppliers to launch a download key that can not only read out all current tachographs, but also transmit the data wirelessly via app. The DAKO TachoKEY makes reading out easier and reduces manual errors thanks to its intuitive handling. In addition, the hardware is also compatible with the new intelligent tachographs version 2 (Gen2V2).
According to EU regulations, Smart Tachographs Version 2 are mandatory in newly registered vehicles since 21 August 2023. Just in time for the new version’s introduction, we are introducing a new download key. The DAKO TachoKEY can read all tachographs, including the Gen2V2 tachographs, and is particularly easy to use. This is ensured by intuitive usability through coloured LED signals as well as the accompanying DAKO TransferApp, which guides even inexperienced users safely through the process.
"The connection with the app for data transmission was particularly important to us. This brings us very close to the reality of our customers' work routines. Those responsible for readout can send the data directly from the driver's cab without having to connect the key to an external device or PC again. Basically, users only have to plug the TachoKEY into the tachograph and start the DAKO TransferApp – the rest of the process takes place automatically."
The download key is a further development of the DAKO SmartStick, which in this new version includes the update for the intelligent tachograph version 2. The DAKO TachoKEY is pre-configured and reads out the tachograph data of the last 92 days If a driver card is inserted, it also reads this data automatically. Hence, it becomes straightforward to comply with the legally required readout intervals. The app transfers the data directly to our tachograph and telematics platform, DAKO Fleet, where it is automatically archived in compliance with the law and analysed in detail. The DAKO TransferApp can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. Development is underway for iOS devices.
The focus on modern transfer methods and current challenges within the transport industry, such as the introduction of Gen2V2 tachographs, shows that our product concept is strongly oriented towards the actual use cases of our customers.
